Liposuction & Liposculpture

Remove excess stubborn fat

BOOK TREATMENT

How It Works

Liposuction is a procedure where excess areas of fat are removed through small incisions to reshape the body. It can be done on many different areas of the body, including:

  • Tummy
  • Back
  • Love handles
  • Arms
  • Bra area / Upper back
  • Thighs
  • Calves
  • Buttocks
  • Under the chin.

A special liposuction fluid is first injected into the area to numb the area and to loosen the fat cells. Then a tube is inserted through a small incision and the fat is sucked out. Then the incision is closed with sutures.

In some cases, the fat can be re-injected in another area of the body to reshape it. This is called a fat graft. For example, if someone has more fat in their tummy and less in the buttocks, the fat can be removed from the tummy and injected into the buttock, making the tummy flatter and the buttock fuller. This procedure is also known as a “Brazilian Butt Lift”. A similar procedure can be done for the breasts to enhance the breast size or shape.

Combining Procedures

Liposuction is often combined with other procedures. At Allura Dr. Husain may recommend combining liposuction with other cosmetic procedures in order to achieve optimal cosmetic goals. A mommy makeover, for example, could combine a tummy tuck and breast augmentation with liposuction for women whose bodies have changed after pregnancy.

Liposuction is used during many aesthetic procedures, including:

Breast Reduction
Arm Lift
Tummy Tuck

FAQ's

  • What should I expect after getting liposuction?

You will be provided a compression garment to wear around the treatment areas. It’s important to wear these diligently, as they help to reduce swelling and contour your body to its new shape. During the first few days after surgery, you can typically expect moderate pain and soreness. You should plan to limit your activity during this time.

  • What is the difference between liposuction and a tummy tuck?

Liposuction is the process of removing fat from stubborn areas, the incisions made for the procedure are small and recovery is generally fast with minimal pain. Liposuction alone does not tighten loose skin that can result from weight loss or childbirth.

A tummy tuck involves removing excess loose skin on the lower abdomen, it also involves tightening the stomach muscles that have separated during weight gain or pregnancy. The incision for a tummy tuck is larger. Neither procedure is intended as a weight loss option, but rather to boost body confidence and provide a slimmer firmer tone after an ideal body weight has been achieved.

  • Will liposuction leave scars?

Because the cannulas used to remove fat during liposuction are so small this allows the incisions to remain small as well. once healed the scars from liposuction are tinny or unnoticeable. A discussion will be had about ideal locations for discrete insertion points and the best ways you can minimize redness and care for your skin after liposuction.
