Facelift / Necklift

Redefine your best features

How It Works

This is a procedure when the tissues of cheeks, jawline and neck are lifted and tightened to give a more youthful rested appearance. There are 2 methods to make the incisions, depending on the amount of excess tissue in the neck.

If there is little of no neck laxity, then a short-scar (or mini-) facelift is done where the incision starts in the hairline in the temple area and passes just in front of the ear down to the earlobe.

For those with more laxity of the neck, the incision starts in the hairline at the temple, down along the crease of the ear, and continues behind the ear. The tissues below the skin are pulled and tightened, which pulls on the skin, lifts tissue, and sutures are used to hold things in place. The excess skin is the removed and the incisions are sutured.

  • How much younger will I look?

Patients who have undergone facelift procedures rate themselves at looking an average of 5 years younger

  • What is the best age to have a face or neck lift?

A facelift can be done at any age as long as you are in good health and have realistic expectations of what the procedure can achieve.

  • How long do results last?

A facelift can result in a younger appearance, but results are not permanent. Over time facial skin can begin to loosen and droop again, on average a facelift with good skincare can last 10 years.

  • Will I have scarring?

Whenever an incision in the skin is made there will be a scar. Fortunately, incisions of a facelift are strategically placed in the hairline and curves of the edges of the face, making them well-hidden.

  • Can a facelift get rid of all the wrinkles on my face?

A facelifts primary goal is lifting and tightening rather than removing wrinkles. By lifting and tightening skin the wrinkles and lines on the cheeks will improve. But it will not affect lines around the mouth and chin area, this is why it is a good option to combine a facelift with a skin resurfacing treatment such as laser resurfacing.
