Buttock Lift

BOOK TREATMENT

How It Works

A buttock lift is a procedure where excess skin and fat are removed from the upper buttock and lower back area in order to reshape the buttocks and to lift the tissue higher. The incision is usually made from one side of the buttock across the upper buttocks and over to the other buttock. It may be combined with liposuction. It may also be combined with fat grafting if a fuller buttock is desired.

A buttock lift is usually performed on those who want their buttocks to look more lifted and youthful due to skin sagging and laxity around the buttock area. This is particularly beneficial for people who have excessive skin due to significant weight loss. The best candidates are those in good physical health who are non-smokers.

FAQ's

  • What is recovery like after a buttock lift?

Expect to have some discomfort during the first week after surgery, you will be given pain medication to help with the discomfort. Swelling and bruising will occur in the days following surgery and begin to subside by the end of the first week. You will be required to avoid sitting for the first one to two weeks following surgery to avoid excessive rubbing and pressure to the surgical incisions. Sleeping on your side and stomach and lying on the couch is advised to avoid excessive pressure on the area. Most people are able to head back to work after about two weeks, depending on the type of work, while strenuous exercise should be avoided for about four to six weeks.

  • When will I see final results?

Results will be seen immediately following the procedure. It commonly takes six months to one year before the final shape is seen. As this procedure involves surgical incisions there will be scarring. The positions of the scars are commonly well hidden at the pant or bathing suit line. For the majority of people, the scars heal nicely and become less noticeable reaching their final appearance after about 1 to 2 years.
