How Laser Hair Removal Is More Effective Than Waxing

BY

Everyone has body hair. Some may have more than others, and some may have darker or lighter hair. Regardless of your situation, having body hair can be an insecurity for many individuals.

Thankfully, there are many options when it comes to removing body hair. Two very common services are waxing and laser hair removal. Both treatments are effective and can be used for many types of hair in any area of your body. But, laser hair removal is considered the more effective option.

Keep reading to find out how laser hair removal is more effective than waxing.

Less Hair Growth Over Time

Waxing will remove your hair and, over time, you may notice your hair becoming thinner. However, there is no “end” appointment with waxing. Laser hair removal not only removes your body hair but stops it from growing. After your sessions, you’ll notice less hair growth and even little to none by the end of your treatments. This can be appealing to anyone who struggles with darker hair in visible areas, suffers from ingrown hairs, or razor burn.

Less Painful Treatment

Laser hair removal involves the use of a laser, which may sound painful, but it really isn’t. The laser emits heat which damages your hair follicles and over time prevents hair growth. During your treatment, you will feel tiny snaps, this is the feeling of the laser penetrating the skin and destroying the hair at its base.

On the other hand, waxing is more painful, as it involves a glued strip pulling the hair out of your hair follicles. It is important to note that everyone has different pain tolerances. But, laser hair removal is considered the less painful option.

Not As Many Appointments

As mentioned before, waxing doesn’t have an “end” appointment. It is not a permanent treatment and you will need to have appointments every 4-6 weeks depending on your hair growth. Laser hair removal takes a certain amount of sessions based on your hair type and amount. Usually, you will need to go every 4-8 weeks, which is significantly less than waxing. Once the sessions are done, you should have little to no hair growth in the treated area.
